Palmer, from the 70's and why he was referred to as being blue-eyed soul...Dude could sing, which shows in live performances. No auto-tune needed...If nothing else, catch Sneaking Sally, starting at about the 4:30 mark... https://m. Link to video

@George-K Any valid points he might have had, and I couldn't find any, were obscured by his inability to control himself. Because he was well aware there were not any. Hence his use of relentless attack on all fronts coupled with histrionics. An irrational application of the axiom that the best defence is a good offence. A common tactic of the morally weak, not exclusive to Arabs. Pay attention to Sergei Lavrov and other Kremlin hoods who find themselves in a corner - same tactic. Here’s a segment of BBC’s Hardtalk interviewing one of Putin’s schnauzers, Evgenny Popov. Same tactic although his drama is somewhat soft pedalled compared to that rabid fanatic Arab above: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/w3ct32sd

@George-K said in "Nice shootin', Tex!": As @jolly says, everything has to be accounted for - wind, drop of the round, etc. This is another thing I'll never understand. Professional golfers do it on TV every day.

He's back to his usual pleasant self. This kid suffers SO much with any illness, and he's had his share of them - HFM, RSV, croup, etc. But if he's not sick and suffering, he's delightful. Never cries, always smiling and happy. I wish my kids had been this pleasant at 18 months. OTOH, I was working, so Mrs. George had to deal with them, so....

I almost tried that with a lamb loin tonight. But didn't. The roasting garlic smells amazing really good.

@Horace said in Maher - why Trump will win in 2024: @Renauda said in Maher - why Trump will win in 2024: @Horace The young people today are following popular culture that is very similar to what it was politically 30 years ago. How is it very similar politically to 30 years ago? Inexorable leftward lurch. For instance, people are no longer shifting to the right in their middle age to the extent they used to. Parents and children are more often in the same political tribe. I didn’t see that back then and I definitely do not see that around here now. If anything I see young people lining up increasingly behind their more traditionally conservative minded grandparents.

@Copper said in "Total Navigation Failure": On occasion, the US Federal Government is required to conduct GPS tests, training activities, and exercises that involve interfering with GPS receivers. https://www.navcen.uscg.gov/gps-service-interruptions This happens pretty regularly around here, maybe once a month. Yah. but they warn you about it.

A lot of insurance companies are losing money on their home and auto right now. Combination of driving habits (bad ones picked up a lot during covid) fender-benders becoming much more expensive (sensors and cameras are in our bumpers) and many states having regulations that limit which policies they can cancel..how much they can raise rates, etc. When money is tight, insurance companies become real assholes about how they handle claims. They'll pay them (eventually), but make you work for it....knowing many people just throw their hands in the air. It'd interesting to see how Tesla fairs vs other big names...At least those companies have other insurance products (business, workers comp, etc) that can keep them afloat.

@Mik said in How about those Eagles?: Funny, I don't remember them bitching about it when the calls went their way in the SB against Bengals. Just like elections. Losers whine, winners dine.

Exactly, at the end of the day I have to pay the bottom line price. If the price is too high, at least I'll know ahead of time.

I've always been skeptical about windshield repairs that are DIY. Guess my concerns were unfounded.
